Centennial was incorporated in 2001, making it one of Colorado's newest cities despite its well-established neighborhoods. The area was originally developed in the 1970s and 1980s as unincorporated Arapahoe County, and residents voted to incorporate to gain more control over local governance and services. (Wikipedia)
The city is home to the Centennial Center Park, Streets at SouthGlenn lifestyle center, Centennial Airport (one of the busiest general aviation airports in the US), and the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds. Cherry Creek State Park borders the city to the north, offering boating, swimming, and miles of trails.
Centennial's housing stock consists largely of 1970s-1990s construction — split-levels, bi-levels, ranches, and two-story colonials built during south Denver's suburban expansion. Most original HVAC systems have been replaced at least once, but many current systems are now 15-20 years old and approaching end of life.
